My main point is that both Lance and Balan are complex characters, and neither can be labelled as just "good" or "bad". A month ago I'd never even heard of this game, so I may very well be talking out of my ass, but I swear there's some logic in there somewhere. I like to think that the real endgame would be Balan and Lance coexisting peacefully, not as extremes but as two balanced individuals, as Lance was always intended to be. It's a little like the movie Inside Out in that way-the main character couldn't heal without acknowledging sadness. Rather than becoming completely "negative", his heart is simply becoming balanced, acknowledging the necessity of positivity and negativity. but I believe that it's much less dramatic than that. Leo Craig (Balan Wonderworld) Revenge Post-Canon Spoilers Kidnapping After they left the Balan Theater, all of the previous residents were able to live their peaceful lives. Led by the enigmatic Maestro named Balan, the stars of the show Emma and LEGO will use special abilities from a multitude of characterful costumes as they adventure in the bizarre and imaginary land of Wonderworld. Balan (Balan Wonderworld) Negati (Balan Wonderworld) Tims (Balan Wonderworld) Original Human Character (s) Adventure. He may have been balanced at first, but his love for the humans made him want to protect them and shield them from suffering, which unfortunately only prolonged their hurt. So, my theory is this: Lance, as Balan, was much like he is now. as the novel shows, this toxic positivity ultimately has negative results. To me, this behaviour seems less like overt negativity, and more like toxic positivity. Throughout the first half of the novel, he tries to get them to ignore anything negative so they can continue to be blissfully ignorant. Lance, on the other hand-if we take his "I only ever loved all of you" at face value (which I do)-initially sought to keep the inhabitants in Wonderworld by numbing their minds with positivity. but it's what Checkered King needed to hear in order to begin to heal. The truth is harsh, it's cold, and even Leo acknowledges that it's something he couldn't vocalise himself.
